kay. its about someone who has SOMETHING happen to him witch makes him beleive that he came from another planet and have no memory of his life beforehand. what could happen that would cause that type of delusion? btw in the end i want him to discover the truth..so PLEASE HELP.Writing a book - how can one create false memories?
Amnesia for the forgetting his life part, which could be caused by some kind of head trauma perhaps? Maybe Schizophrenia or Psychosis for the delusional part.





Or maybe he's in a coma and then he dreams all of it, and when he wakes up with amnesia, the only memories are his dreams of coming to earth in a space ship or something maybe?

Prisoner of war, isolation and torture drove him insane to the point where he mentally became someone else and forgot who he was.Current Iraq war guy. Imagine that you are him place yourself in isolation for a few days and imagine this maybe the end of your life and you need to disassociate to survive.Can you imagine that level of fear? Hmm, I don't know very much about it, but maybe you could try looking into a fugue state? It's when someone inexplicably drops their entire lives, go off to live somewhere else with a new persona, and then just go back to being themselves, completely forgetting they made up a new life in the first place. It sounds like a good place to start.
