Letter to Christian physicists ';we must burn all the books giving the false theories of the recent era'; ...!?

http://www-formal.stanford.edu/jmc/chris鈥?/a>

the above page is the weirdest thing! ... and its from someone at STANFORD??!!! thankfully, he's a professor of ';computer science';, NOT PHYSICS

(creationists probably wont appreciate the nuttiness of the letter)Letter to Christian physicists ';we must burn all the books giving the false theories of the recent era'; ...!?
What's that guy been smoking? I want some .....Letter to Christian physicists ';we must burn all the books giving the false theories of the recent era'; ...!?
Stanford appears to have gone downhill a bit.

Edit:

';God does not need science. He is infinite and has no need of simple laws to co-ordinate facts.';

';The hypothesis on which I have based all my work in Natural Philosophy is that every natural law is God's Law, and therefore must express his Glory and Divine Purpose.'; - Newton, preface to Principia.';

I smell a contradiction.
';All sorts of ridiculous answers are given by self-styled Christians who cannot remember their faith long enough to realize that science is a gift to man from God and that God would never have granted the boon of science to pagans.';

Wow. This guy should be ashamed of himself. Apparently he forgot that most highly educated scientists don't believe in God.
The hypothesis on which I have based all my work in Natural Philosophy is that every natural law is God's Law, and therefore must express his Glory and Divine Purpose.'; - Newton, preface to Principia.

That was the only portion I needed to read to decide its validity.
Heh, you should read this a bit more carefully. Follow the link the author has: he states that this was not to be taken seriously.
Good grief...

I'm guessing that the lad didn't get awarded tenure?

Einstein a 'sly jew' and the holocaust was God's punishment for the esteemed professor being right? Terrific! Amazing what utter rubbish the Internet can be populated with, isn't it?
Don't assume. It's not good form.

I essentially believe creation is a key piece of the puzzle. However, I'm TOTALLY opposed to book banning and burning. That is nutty, especially from the mouths of supposedly educated people.
What on Earth is Christian physics supposed to be? Does gravity work differently in their world?

He says it wasn't meant to be taken seriously- pretty dumb to write it at all then, eh?

I call Poe's Law.
For it is written:

';God will destroy the wisdom of the wise;the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate'; (1Cor 1:19).
Kind of scary. But there are people out there who think this way.

';Evolution vs.Creation'; is the new ';earth is round vs. earth is flat'; argument.

I wonder who will win?
Scary! It is a very short step from burning books to burning people.

Did he write that letter in crayon?
