Lord of the rings books: True or false?

I love the LOTR movies and im going to start reading the books after x mas. I have heard different things about things that were in the book but left out of the movies. Every website i look on itcontradictss the last. So can any one tell me the truth?

1: After the ring is destroyed and the hobbits return to the shire, have all the greenFieldss been torn up and changed into more of an industrial area? If so why and who did the changes?

2: in the books is saruman killed by the hobbits? (one site said he gets his head kicked in by them lol)

3: Does it explain who 'sent' gandelf back after his week long fight with the balrog?

4:Does Sam end up having children?

5: Does frodo and sam have 'feelings' for each other?... now this is more based on the vibes i get from watching the film... they don't seem just friends in some scene's lol.

Thanks for any help you can give - Adam :D

P.s also WHY is saruman can make a Bomb to strap onto an oriki's back to destroy Helms deep wall... cant he make them to bombared the whole castle/fort with them using catapults... Saruman fail :PLord of the rings books: True or false?
1) yes, it is the work of Saruman who now goes by the name of Sharkey.

2) Saruman is killed by Wormtongue as they are being expelled from the shire%26gt; Wormtongue is then killed by the hobbits.

3) I don't recall if that answer is given

4) yes, many, and among them Frodo-lad

5) if you mean homosexual feelings, that was not the author's intent. Tolkien was a fervent Catholic and undoubtedly would have frowned upon such a relationship

P.S. sometimes logic must be suspended for the story to be told. You might ask why the eagles couldn't have flown Frodo to Mount Doom and saved him the journey on foot. Then the book would have been 30 pages instead of 1,030.Lord of the rings books: True or false?
The eagle thing was actually addressed in the beginning of Fellowship (the book, not the movie). Sauron was ACTIVELY searching for the ring. Don't you think he would have noticed a bunch of giant eagle flying into his land to the one place that the ring could be destroyed?? It's not a plot hole.

1. True: Sauruman decided that since Merry and Pippin destroyed his home, he would destroy theirs.

2. False: Though he was killed in the shire, he was stabbed in the back by wormtongue (who was subsequently killed by hobbit archers)

3. The books don't explain that, but the Silmarillion does

4. Yes. Five, I think

5. NO THEY DON'T!! I freaking hate that about the movie!

The word is Uruk-hai.
the end of the movie is not even close to the book, but you must read it for yourself

to find out who sent Gandalf in the first place, read the Silmarillion

Sam has children

no Frodo and Sam were not gay, that is fan fiction sickness

he only had one bomb
If you love fiction, these are the books for you. It's just someones exaggerated imagination and has nothing to do with reality. However, if it entertains you, read up for yourself and don't depend on others. That way you will have reliable facts to go by.
erm, why do want to know all this if you're going to read the books? Will take the fun out of it, no?
