Give it your best shot friends...who ever gets the most right answers gets 10 points.....True or False..........are these real ';on the books'; California laws......?
They are all true, although most of them are no longer law. Most of them have some validity, believe it or not.

I won't discuss all of them but here are a few:

Toads are poisonous. Licking a toad can kill you. Since it's in the book, if you lick a toad, you can be arrested for attempted suicide if you don't die.

The church law is actually from Pasadena, although L.A. probably had it, too. Pasadena is known as a prudish church-going town.

The camels: There was a time when the US Army tried to use camels in the cavalry. They trained near Indio, just east of Palm Springs. Actually, it was at the site of what is now the George S. Patton Museum at the airport at Chiriaco Summit. Sometimes the soldiers would bring the camels into town. The city fathers just didn't want them around during rush hour.

Hollywood is part of the city of Los Angeles. HOWEVER, between 1903 and 1909, Hollywood was an incorporated city on its own... A FARM TOWN. There were lots of sheep farms.

The Carmel laws were VERY true. I think they still have the law about no neon signs within the downtown section. The high heels was because of cobblestone sidewalks. The ice cream was because they didn't want any food to be seen in public, except in a restaurant.

San Francisco... yeah it's true.

And #10 is still on the books. Of course, if a man beats his wife the California Penal Code supercedes the City Charter.True or False..........are these real ';on the books'; California laws......?
i don't know about all that, but did you know that some ppl actually think it's against the law to say 'mommy 'or 'daddy' in san fran?

my friend TOLD ME, argued it -even, That the law was , they have to say 'Parental Unit';.
Well having lived in California all my life and knowing how incredibly stupid law makers have been here over the years, I'm betting they're all real.
I would say all of them are real except number 9 and fizz dude STOP that crap (no pun intended!) this is the second question i have come across you did that on!
you know I really hope that these are not true but thinking it is California I am going to say TRUE
