Since we know many claims the Bible makes are false, could we speculate that the whole entire book is a lie?

Morganie - how many of these fulfilled prophecies of the Bible have the Bible as their evidence?

Just went to your site - the answer to my question is the vast majority.

But go to her site and look at the beautifully bizarre probability calcualtions under 'Just a Coincidence?'Since we know many claims the Bible makes are false, could we speculate that the whole entire book is a lie?
Hi,

That would be going too far. Pick a science textbook of a hundred years ago. Many claims in it are known to be false now. Yet it does not negate the whole book.

However, it does reveal that some things have been added and removed from the original content. Moreover, the translations have misinterpretted many things. So, the way it stands now, bible is a retold text, based on a divine one, in which the commentaries and passages of human origin have been mixed in.Since we know many claims the Bible makes are false, could we speculate that the whole entire book is a lie?
I'm sorry, but what God promotes the following:

rape, incest, bigotry, pulling out women's hair, stoning to death, child beating, bestiality, crime, terrorism, alcoholism, sex-addiction, back-stabbing, hate and ignorance.

.....maybe Allah...... Of course saying that would make me a bigot.... Right?! But not you of course.

The God of the Bible doesn't support any of the above. He's merciful, compassionate, slow to anger, and rich in love. He uses real life to convey his message. Unfortunately REAL LIFE sucks! It's disgusting. Just look at today's news.

Name one false claim of the Bible. If you look at the Bible and see false claims it is because your eyes are blind my friend. The Scripture does not contradict itself.

Any person who is really willing to study the Bible (even Non Believers) can see that the Bible is not contradicting itself.

Of course those that have already made up their mind like you refuse to come to the truth.
Why speculate? Simply assume that to be the case; there are certainly no grounds for considering any part of it to be somehow authentic. I would not use the word ';lie,'; that implies a deliberate intent to deceive -- and many of the original authors believed their nonsense.
Steely Dan,

';how many of these fulfilled prophecies of the Bible have the Bible as their evidence?';

The Old Testament was written long before the New Testament and in fact Jesus Birth, life, death and Resurrection mirrored countless prophesies from the Old Testament. Also, there is mountains of archaeological evidence and contemporary history that agrees with much of the life and times of Biblical peoples.
Nothing the bible claims is false. It is usually an interpretation that is in error. Every claims of Bible falsehood has been proven to be unfounded. Search Bible websites to read for yourself, but to believe or not is your choice.
you mean since you personally think that some parts of the bible are false.

Not everyone thinks they are.

I think that some parts of the bible are false, but only because people later changed the Bible. It's still mostly reliable though.
Name one false claim?

100 Fufilled bible prophecies:

No. I think the stories are real. They were just handed down generation to generation and got embelished on and changed into stuff that makes no sense. To me the Bible is just the first book of laws.
The Jews say that if you are caught telling one lie in your testimony then the entire testimony must be dismissed - because you are a liar.

Examples: Jesus CANNOT be the messiah - read his lineage. But first understand the prophecy...
What you say you know is what you assume. You may be (and in fact are) wrong. If you are wrong, what then? What if the scene in Revelation includes you? Are you that sure that you will bet your life on it?
I dunno. I mean sure, from a historical or scientific standpoint it's rubbish, definitely. But as literature, the KJV is alright.
We don't have to specualte that the entire book is a lie. just accept that it is unreliable (and then forget about it).
the bible is to show people how to go to heaven, not how the heavens go.-Galileo
Hmm... just because there's a misprint in a textbook, do you assume that NOTHING the book says is correct? Not very logical - sorry.
How many and quote them please along with your evidence for declaring them false.
Got examples?
when did I agree with you on any false claims?

speculation is therefore out of the question!
Well, it WAS written by people who though the world was flat.
no just corrupted. its still a respected book:)
